That quote is from How To Brickle - The New Brunswick Funny Book , a slim satirical volume published in 1977 that chronicles, with bitter-flavoured Down East humour, the brief -- and for local taxpayers expensive -- saga of the gull-winged Bricklin SV-1 safety sports car built in that province from 1974 to '76. When smooth-talking American entrepreneur Malcolm Bricklin finally retreated south of the border, leaving behind some $35-million in debt -- much of it owed to the provincial government -- Bricklin Canada Ltd. had built fewer than 3,000 cars.
