| A spark of life left in the cheery clutter By Tony Levy Jul 26, 2005, 08:21 After 18 years of living and working up here in the Black Country, moving around from one factory to the next, the ever-changing scenery and the folk I meet are always a constant source of wonderment and delight. I try to understand the ancient working practices and skills of the ever-shrinking family workshops and cottage industries I find on my travels, and when I was asked to go to a workshop in Walsall, I just knew that I was in for an unforgettable experience among the dingy back streets, in a run down industrial area of that world-famous leather town. Behind those mid-Victorian double gates was a treasure house.
