Services Features Lighting up the Fourth By Judith Trice / Special to The Citizen AUBURN - Audiences take pleasure in watching the bright colors of a fireworks display, but many people have no idea that preparing for a Fourth of July event is an entire spectacle in itself. "Talking to me now is like trying to talk to Santa just before Christmas," said Steve Pierce, regional director of Auburn Telstar Display Fireworks Inc. "We are not only getting ready for the Auburn fireworks display on July 3 - we have other displays scheduled for July 2 and July 4. The Auburn fireworks event with the Syracuse Symphony is one of the largest displays in upstate New York and is a total community effort. It involves both the city and the county and all of the towns around us. It's a major undertaking and a lot of logistical work goes into it." Chris Morab
